Something not working?

Most problems with this app are permission problems, and most of those have a one-tap fix in Settings → Permission health. If that doesn't do it, write to us.

Questions we get

Why does the app need Screen Time access?

+

It is the only way on iOS to know you've crossed a usage threshold, and the only way to put a screen in front of an app. Apple keeps that data sealed on your device, which is exactly why the app can't upload it.

Why are notifications required, not optional?

+

iOS does not let the block screen open our app. The tap on that screen sends you a notification, and the notification is the door back in. With notifications off you have to open Spark Break from the home screen every time — it works, but it's clumsy.

Why does it say "about" 2 hours instead of a number?

+

The system tells us when you pass a threshold, not how many minutes you're at. We could invent a precise-looking figure; we'd rather round it and say so. Exact minutes are on the Progress screen, rendered by Apple itself.

After an iOS update my app list stopped working

+

System updates and app reinstalls can invalidate the references iOS gives us for your chosen apps. Open Settings → Protected apps and select them again. Your plan, streak and history stay as they were.

Why can't I see which apps I selected?

+

Apple hands us opaque tokens rather than app names, so we genuinely cannot display the list. You can review and change your selection through Apple's own picker in Settings → Protected apps.

How do I cancel my subscription?

+

On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Spark Break → Cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel it. Your history stays in the app if you come back.

How do I delete my account and data?

+

There is no account to delete — Spark Break never creates one. Everything it knows about you is on your iPhone, and removing the app removes it. What that means in full →
